Part-time Community Manager
(Up to 10 hours per week in first instance.)
We are seeking a Community Manager to support the growth and development of Urban Tide products and services.
Urban Tide was formed from members of the team that helped bid, plan and deliver the Innovate UK’s £24 million smart city demonstrator for Glasgow. The co-founders led and worked as part of the OPEN Glasgow programme team that opened up the city’s data to create engaging solutions for everyone.
Urban Tide are looking to capitalise and expand on this expertise and knowledge together with our strong partnerships to build a new data platform that delivers a vastly improved data management solution for smart cities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Assist with the implementation of the social media strategy for Urban Tide. Under the supervision of Simon Tricker CDO to ensure its effectiveness and approach to encouraging audience growth.
Assist on social media campaigns and day-to-day activities for Urban Tide. Duties include online advocacy, writing editorial, community-outreach efforts (for example, supporting our OPEN Data Training Programme), promotions, best practices, etc.
Community management of social networking sites including Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, (Facebook coming soon) and other community sites. Must be savvy on understanding best practices, growing social media communities and frequency & timeliness of posting across multiple client networks. Understanding the how/why from everything to Hashtag use & trending topics.
Interview members of Urban Tide and other key players in the Smart Cities, Future Cities, Big Data, Open Data and IoT arena to compile regular ‘stories’ (blogs) to keep content on the website fresh and up-to-date.
Responsible for success of weekly social engagement & growth for followers and client engagement. 2 week reporting on growth within the internal team.
Monitoring trends across Smart Cities and Future Cities, Big Data, Open Data, IoT, community engagement and everything that builds a better future for us all.
Become an advocate of Urban Tide online and offline; social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate.
Attending events & meetups on behalf of Urban Tide, networking and capturing business contacts
Grow our twitter followers to 1000+ by mid year (June 2016).
Create Twitter groups of global leaders, thought leaders, key influencers, events, PLC’s, SME’s, communities.
Create content plan with weekly stories shared across our social platforms
Improve LinkedIn profile and grow followers
SEO and optimise our website to improve search results around keywords.
