CodeBase - Events Coordinator

Team CodeBase are on the lookout for a new Events Coordinator to join our awesome team! CodeBase is the UK's largest technology incubator, taking early stage startups and providing an exciting environment to help them grow. We have over 60 companies with approximately 400 employees working within them.

Working closely with the rest of the team, you’ll be in charge of building our busy events schedule and making sure it runs smoothly; everything from initial contact with events partners, marketing, analytics and logistics on day. The types of events we currently host include workshops, lectures, meetups, coffee mornings, networking, yoga, parties, pub trips, board games nights - in short, anything we think will be fun and interesting! This is not a corporate job, we are professional but also very friendly - individuality encouraged.

Responsibilities:

  • Events organisation - working with partners to make sure all bases are covered and that nothing can go wrong on the night.

  • Logistics - this is a hands on job. You’ll be expected to set up events (tables/chairs etc.), deal with any AV requirements, meet and greet visitors at the door and generally be on hand for any problems.

  • Working to a budget - our events rely on a very limited budget, and you’ll need to be aware of not going over it.

  • Marketing - working with our marketing person to make sure events are well publicized in good time.

  • Administrative work - keeping track of attendees, numbers of events, customer feedback.

  • Customer service - this is a customer facing job and you’ll need to be a friendly presence.

  • Other jobs around CodeBase - we’re a small team, and we all pitch in. There will be times when we need help on reception, or non events related admin, or dealing with tenant related issues.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a customer facing role

  • Proficient with a computer – knowledge of the Google suite of tools desirable (docs, drive, calendar, groups)

  • Ability to think on your feet and take initiative

  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise

  • Ability to organise, multitask, prioritise and work under pressure

  • Interest in technology and creative industries desirable, although training can be provided.

Working hours: 35 hr a week. Although the job will mostly be 9am - 5pm, flexibility will be essential as many of our events go into the evening or start before 9am.

Starting salary: £18,000

Start date: January 2016

This is a full time, permanent position.
