Each year, disasters around the world kill nearly 100,000 and affect or displace 200 million people. Many of the places where these disasters occur are literally 'missing' from any map and first responders lack the information to make valuable decisions regarding relief efforts.
A global initiative, Missing Maps is an open, collaborative project in which you can help to map areas where humanitarian organisations are trying to meet the needs of vulnerable people.
We are trying to build and grow a community of Missing Map mappers in the Stirling area to assist this humanitarian cause...working together for the global good.
This event provides a great learning environment, where new mappers can socialise, network and learn from the experiences of others.
No experience is necessary - we show you everything you need to know. All we need from you is your time. All you need is to bring a laptop and mouse if you have one. Snacks and refreshments will be provided on the night.
