CodeBase HealthTech Meetup.
A quarterly evening meetup to discuss emerging Healthtech advances. Bringing together clinicians, startups, computer scientists and biologists, the meetup will showcase the most interesting work in the field.

We are excited to welcome you to the first CodeBase HealthTech Meetup on the 25th of March. The speakers for this evening are:
Jonny Finlay: CEO of UltraHuman, an antibody drug discovery biotech housed in Codebase that is developing a series of therapeutics for inflammation and oncology. Prior to co-founding UltraHuman, Jonny was the Senior Director of Biologics Discovery in Europe at Pfizer, developing a number of new drugs that are now in clinical trials. Jonny also previously worked in biologics drug discovery at Wyeth, and carried out postdoctoral research in recombinant protein engineering at several institutes, including the Centre for Biologics Evaluation and Research, FDA.
Dr Debbie Wake: CEO, clinical lead and co-founder of MyWay Digital Health, a Clinical Reader at the Centre for Medical Informatics, Usher institute, University of Edinburgh (UoE), and NHS Diabetes Consultant (NHS Lothian), (MBChB, BSc, PhD, Clin Ed Dip). She is passionate about technology, informatics and educational in diabetes care. She is national clinical lead for MyDiabetesMyWay in Scotland (>40,000 registrants), a data-driven self-management platform for people with diabetes, (winner of European e-health adopters award/ 2017 DUK self-management award). She is clinical lead for an international diabetes care/ education project in China (UoE), and previously in Kuwait (University of Dundee /Dasman Diabetes Institute). She is currently leading a £1m multi-stakeholder Innovate UK Digital Health Technology Catalyst to support artificial intelligence in diabetes care. Debbie is a 2017/18 NHS Innovation Accelerator fellow, a 2015 Diabetes UK Clinical Champion. Debbie was a health columnist for the Scotsman newspaper (2008-11), and resident on-screen doctor for STV (The Hour) (2009-11).
Chris Sainsbury: Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, an NHS Research Scotland Senior Fellow, and an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham. He is a founding fellow of the Faculty of Clinical Informatics. His research is focused on the use of machine learning to extract maximum insight from large clinical datasets, and on approaches to mapping clinical trial evidence to observed real-world data describing drug efficacy.
