We are looking for a strong test engineer to join our new Edinburgh based startup. We need you to help us create an amazing product that our users will love.

About Decidz

Decidz is an early stage startup with highly aggressive growth plans. Our mission is to make arranging to get together as effortless as possible. We are now recruiting our first round of employees who will be offered salaries as well as stock options. The founding team is technical with substantial experience in high growth startups. The company is well connected in the tech community with two of the founders being former Skyscanner employees with a Skyscanner founder on our board. The job is in Edinburgh and we can help with relocation if required.

Job responsibilities

As a test engineer you would be expected to

  • work towards driving the number of bugs down as far as possible using a range of approaches
  • develop a comprehensive suite of test scripts to ensure our site is running sublimely
  • work with developers to ensure unit test coverage is comprehensive
  • implement automated testing in order reduce risk associated with continuous deployment
  • record, prioritise and communicate any bugs or issues found during testing
  • work to requirements which may be based on a quick chat over a coffee
  • communicate your progress and any problems encountered
  • contribute to technical discussions

Desired skills

  • highly skilled in implementing a complete range of testing approaches
  • you are familiar with testing native apps, hybrid apps, angularjs code, asynchronous
  • functionality and responsive websites
  • exposure to any of the following highly desirable: automated testing (eg selenium), load/volume testing
  • good problem-solving skills and a logical approach to work
