The Guest Information Book is dead! We’ve built its replacement and we are taking it to market.

Launched in November 2016, criton allows holiday home owners to build their own app to replace their guest information book – you know the old dusty and occasionally grotty book in each holiday home which sometimes has the most amazing information, that few people read? We are helping owners and Airbnb hosts turn that into an app. Much more user friendly right?

This is a chance to join a start up right at the beginning. Working in the heart of Edinburgh, you will work closely with the Founder and CEO to implement the marketing plan with specific responsibility for the digital side. We are a small team and you need to be able to roll your sleeves up and give it your all. You must be someone who can report on ROI, because you know that its crucial to measure and it will drive our marketing spend. In return you will be rewarded with the joy of hard work and the knowledge that what you do has a direct impact on the success of the business. We pay too.

Work closely with CEO to launch CRITON into the short term accommodation market. Implementing the marketing strategies, reporting KPIs and adjusting tactics as the business moves through its launch to deliver the business plan. 

Main Duties:

1. Contribution to and implementation of marketing plans and strategies

2.Maintain content on website updating accordingly including uploading new content, e.g. blogs, which will assist in developing organic search listings

3. Create, manage and monitor digital marketing campaigns across numerous methodologies including email, PPC, website and social media, working closely with the SEO provider with aim of taking over the SEO function

4.Research and recommend opportunities to improve SEO positions for target keywords and implement identified strategies

5.Monitor and manage all social media accounts across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linkedin, including the creation and delivery of regular posts plus set up, delivery and management of social media based advertising activity

6.Managing the production of marketing materials, including leaflets, posters, flyers, newsletters, e-newsletters and DVDs, including writing and proof-reading copy

7.Attendance at relevant trade shows

8.Work closely with the customer facing teams to support new ideas and publish up to date content

9.Transition website to ecommerce platform and maintain 

10.Build relationships with potential partners in the sector


12.Monthly KPI reporting including ROI

13.Manage the marketing budget

14.Work with sales team to drive the pipeline

15.Become the customer champion, including becoming a super user on CRITON
