Into Film is an education charity that puts film at the heart of children and young people’s learning experience across the UK. Our programme includes extra-curricular film clubs, training, a cinema-based film festival and annual Awards. To our knowledge, no other UK-wide cultural education initiative has such a high take-up by schools and youth groups, with over 12,000 film clubs registered so far.
Our work is supported by the BFI, through the National Lottery, and other film organisations including Cinema First, in addition to the film industry at large and several high profile ambassadors.
Reporting to the Director of Strategy and Development, the Development Manager takes a central role in supporting the achievement of income targets for the organisation and works closely with colleagues across Into Film to implement our development and fundraising strategy. They will also contribute to effective knowledge gathering and sharing about the Into Film programme and our target audience to support development of funding bids and relationships with external organisations that enable us to deliver and sustain our work. This position requires a ‘hands on’ and proactive approach, liaising with and working across all Into Films teams.
You will need experience of fundraising in the cultural or education sector and an understanding of the opportunities and challenges of the public, private and third sectors. You will need proven ability of securing funding from trusts and foundations, statutory and/or corporate donors. You will need strong research and bid writing skills and experience of writing detailed project reports to funders and of working to financial targets. Experience of sponsorship would be beneficial, as would a love of film!
