Community & Events Manager
We are looking for a Community & Events Manager to join our new team in Aberdeen. This is an ideal opportunity for a dynamic individual who wishes to build on their existing events management skills in a vibrant start-up tech hub environment.
ONE CodeBase is a partnership between Opportunity North East (ONE) and the UK’s largest tech incubator, CodeBase. The proven CodeBase model is based on taking early stage digital tech businesses and providing support and opportunities to help them grow.
ONE CodeBase will be based in the ONE Digital & Entrepreneurship Hub at Schoolhill, in the centre of Aberdeen. The hub will be the focal point for growth activity and play a key role in developing a strong digital and entrepreneurship community in the North East; bringing together ambitious digital companies and entrepreneurs in a creative, collaborative and dynamic environment.
Event creation and delivery including workshops, lectures, meet ups, networking, and showcase events- providing a programme which is engaging and informative
Event management and logistics – this is a hands-on role
Community coordination – being the focal point for ONE CodeBase tenants, hub partner organisations and companies for advice and information
Working closely with the Community and Events Managers from CodeBase Edinburgh and Stirling to ensure that ONE Codebase is aligned with the Codebase UK Strategy
Proactively managing tenant’s expectations and keeping abreast of the local and national digital tech community scene
Supervision of two front of house staff
Strong understanding of the digital / tech economy and of global technology trends
Previous experience in event creation and programme management in an industry environment is essential
Customer service – we are looking for a person with excellent interpersonal skills, friendly and approachable with a proactive, flexible attitude.
Extensive digital skills including G suite. Knowledge of CRM and event data management is desirable
Previous management or supervisory experience would be an advantage.
Terms and Conditions
Working hours: 35hrs a week. Although the job will mostly be 9am – 5pm, flexibility will be essential as many of our events go into the evening or start before 9am.
Competitive salary along with pension and private health care.
This is a full time, permanent position. The role is based in Aberdeen however initial training will take place in Edinburgh for the first month.
