ShareIn - Management Accountant

  • CodeBase Edinburgh 38 Castle Terrace Edinburgh, Scotland, EH3 9DZ United Kingdom (map)

Management Accountant

We are looking for an enthusiastic and focussed qualified Management Accountant to help us strengthen our operational team.

ShareIn is an exciting Edinburgh fintech startup that is the leading provider of investment technology and compliance to private capital markets. Our clients span a range of sectors, from funding pioneering businesses that install life-changing solar systems in Sub-Saharan Africa to property developments in the UK.

We are based in the heart of Edinburgh at CodeBase.

Why work at ShareIn?

We’re an informal and friendly team that’s making an impact on the way financial deals get done. Your input will be appreciated and valued, there’s no big company politics or rank-pulling here.

This is an exciting time to be part of the FinTech sector. ShareIn is a fast growing business and as such you will have the opportunity to be involved in a rapidly evolving industry.

What we’d like you to do

  • Control our accounting records. We use Xero, so experience of working with that or other cloud-based accounting software would be an advantage. We already employ a bookkeeper so it’s not the doing, but ensuring that everything is done efficiently, accurately and in good time.

  • Create beautiful management information. That’s right, beautiful: we want someone who can do more than just produce accounts at the end of the month. If you can bring some imagination to our monthly reporting then we’d like to meet you.

  • Automate the fiddly parts of our invoicing. We’ve got a few revenue streams and there’s a project for the right person to make invoicing less of a chore.

  • See into the future. We’ve been growing at a rate of knots for the last four years and showing no signs of stopping. We need someone to produce accurate forecasts of where we might be this time next year.

  • Be good at jigsaws. There are a lot of pieces to what we do at ShareIn. Clients, developers, our payment partners, investors, designers, the FCA, HMRC and many others. We need someone who is happy fitting it all together, sometimes without a picture on the box to look at.

  • Have a thirst for knowledge. Crowdfunding is still a relatively new industry and we’re still learning. We need someone who likes learning new things and can adapt existing processes to meet new challenges.

What’s in it for you?

  • £35-45K

  • 33 days holiday each year (pro-rata)

  • Flexible working arrangements

Whilst we envisage this as a full-time role, we are open to suggestions on how this could be worked and we would consider part-time 80% FTE for the right candidate. However, it’s worth noting that this is an office based role.

  • The chance to be in at the start of a high growth company in a high growth sector

  • The opportunity to learn and deepen skills in a growing field

  • Best view from an office in the world

ShareIn provides a positive, open and friendly work environment. We are looking for someone that really cares about what they are doing who can work independently. Applicants should be enthusiastic about crowdfunding and the opportunities for building technology that is shaking up traditional sources of finance.
