Location : Edinburgh
Salary : £20 - £25k Dependent on Experience

Who We Are

MRM build marketing technology solutions used by top consumer brands. Our software products allow salespeople and customers to quickly and easily create customisable marketing materials (drinks menus, point-of- sale items and more) that combine the strength of global marketing campaigns with a message that is on-brand and locally relevant.

We occupy a unique position as an independently owned business with global corporate customers such as Carlsberg, Diageo, Molson Coors, Bacardi, L’Oreal and Swarovski.

Since 2001, MRM have been successful by taking a long-term customer focused approach towards building a sustainable business with a culture that encourages employees to use their initiative and take responsibility to do what is right for the business and the customer.

With several new contract wins, it is a very exciting time for MRM as we continue to scale up our business and expand rapidly into new international markets. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a highly innovative software company with market leading products and global growth opportunities.

Where We Are

Our development team is based in CodeBase, at the heart of the Edinburgh tech scene. Our head office is based in Alloa where we provide customer service and produce the physical marketing materials that are created using our software.

Who You Are

This role would suit a recent graduate, or someone who completed a boot camp (e.g. Code Clan) with a good track record and interesting projects. We are looking for someone who is keen to start their career in a rapidly growing, soon to be global company, with potential for quick progression. You’ll need to be a quick learner and enthusiastic about gaining new skills throughout the stack. You’ll need to know React - or be happy to learn it before starting.

You are passionate about building business-critical software applications that solve real world problems and make our customers lives easier. You want to work on real projects that deliver measurable competitive advantages to highly engaged customers.

You are a proactive individual who wants to take responsibility and play a lead role in the growth of an already successful business. You hate red-tape and love finding a better way to do something and sharing best practices with others.

You enjoy working within a small and dynamic team of developers and find it easy to communicate with customers, colleagues and product owners. You are not afraid to voice your opinion and appreciate the input of others.

You are a quick learner who is enthusiastic about self-development and who has the ambition to become a world class software developer.

Your Technical Skills

Must have:

  • Front end skills - HTML/CSS, JS and React
  • Back end skills - proficient in at least one of Node, Python or Ruby (Node preferred)
  • Postgres, SQL Server or other SQL DB experience
  • Unit testing
  • Git workflows
  • Ability to engage effectively with other developers and the product owner
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

Nice to have (it’s an advantage if you have skills in one or two of these, but not essential):

  • Professional experience as a developer (e.g. an internship)
  • .NET/C#
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration/DevOps approaches
  • AWS/Azure
