Senior UX/UI Designer
It is an exciting time to work for Criton as we work towards delivering our new guest centric apps to hotels. These apps provide guests with information about the hotel and local attractions and aggregate traditionally isolated hotel technology to streamline the guest journey before, during and after stay. As a business we’re aiming to massively influence the impact guest facing technology can have within the hospitality sector, across the globe. Role & Responsibilities
We are looking for an enthusiastic, Senior UX/UI Designer to work within our Product Delivery team who will lead the design of these new apps and accompanying back office systems and who will work closely with our Product Owners to deliver the best possible value to our customers and end-users.
Lead the UX / UI design of our apps and back office systems
Lead the team of UX & UI designers, providing mentoring and training as required
Requirements gathering, user research, and usability testing in collaboration with Product Owners
Work alongside our Product Owners to deliver the best possible value to our customers and end-users
There are many interesting challenges ahead, and as part of the Product delivery team you’re able to work directly with anyone across the company. We run regular sessions with all the teams, presentations and demos to ensure everyone is well informed. You’ll get the chance to learn about everything from how hotels work to effective communication. The team adhere to Agile methodologies and participate in Scrum ceremonies.
What we are looking for
Experience in a similar Senior UX/UI Design role
Strong knowledge of UX/UI design principles
Good understanding of UX/UI best practices for smartphones and tablets
Good understanding of Google’s Material Design and Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines
Experience with UX/prototyping/wireframing/graphic design software
Experience with the creation and implementation of design systems
Experience mentoring and supporting designers
Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to clearly and effectively communicate the why & how of design ideas and solutions to Product Delivery Teams
Proven experience of working in an Agile/Scrum development process
Strong working knowledge of HTML and CSS

Currently, the product delivery team are focused on a huge project for one of London’s most famous landmarks, now becoming a hotel. In the pipeline they will be working on creating an exciting new product that aims to be the go-to hotel and destination app for business travellers.
We are based in Codebase, Edinburgh’s best-known tech incubator and offer a relaxed and trusting culture in collaborative working environment. We offer competitive salaries based on skills and experience, which could be up to £40,000 per year plus benefits.
