The Role

Here at CodeClan we're looking for versatile and confident instructors, enthusiastic to shape the skills, habits, and outcomes of new entrants to the world of software development.

We're recruiting for a spread of positions within the team; those able to lead a course from start to finish and motivate a cohort of 20 students through new, complex ideas; and those who can support the delivery of the course with their own experience in software development. The courses are on-site eight hours a day, five days a week, and each course lasts 16 weeks.

What you will bring:

The ideal candidates will have knowledge of the digital technology industry, its processes and terminology and be fluent or familiar in some or all of the following topics: computer science, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ruby, Java, TDD, UX. You don't need to have taught before - you'll get trainer training (but it's great if you have!). You may have worked in start-ups, big business or academia - to give students the most accurate possible preparation for a career in this industry, we need to bring a wide range of experiences into the classroom.

You’ll also be bringing your skills to bear at times to the academy’s internal management software and curriculum delivery tools, keeping hands-on skills, learning new things from your team-mates, and demonstrating constant best-practices to the students.

It's an exciting opportunity to be part of one of the first immersive programs of its type in Scotland, and you will play a key role in helping people enter or return to the workforce, and be involved with growing the delivery of the courses around the country.
