About this event

What is it?

Are you ready to captivate your audience, secure investments, and leave a lasting impression? Do you find yourself getting nervous when it comes to speaking for a group? Come along to Presentation Club to practice your presenting, pitching and public speaking among peers.

What can I expect?

There will be two 5 minute slots open for people to share prepared presentations - please sign up for these using the "presenter" ticket type. If these slots fill up, there may still be a chance to give your presentation if there is time, or if one of the presenters drops out on the day. These presentations can be on any topic of your choosing - for example you could bring a pitch for your business, a talk about a hobby you have or a mini-lecture on a special interest subject.

We will also run a Round Robin between talks - this is a chance for everyone to get involved and practice speaking without preparation. Nobody likes being put on the spot, but being able to think and respond quickly will help you when it comes to meetings or Q&As. Everyone will answer the same question, and will have the same short amount of time to respond.

Those not delivering talks will be making notes to provide constructive feedback on your presentation. We will also have people giving you signals to help you keep track of your timing.

This event will take place from 12.30-1.30pm on Tuesday 23rd January, 2024 at CodeBase, 37a Castle Terrace, EH1 2EL.

We ask everyone to sign up individually, so we can have an estimate of how many people want to attend, this will allow us to prevent food waste by avoiding over-catering. Please cancel your ticket if you are no longer able to attend.

We will also check-in each person on Eventbrite as they join the event so make sure you've signed up to the event in order to attend!
