The Commons Launch: Let's go to the pub.
In the last year, we've grown our events schedule to the point where we have more in house tech events than anywhere else in Edinburgh. We've got regular meetups of EdinburghJS, Docker Edinburgh, AdWords, PreWired, Startup Grind and are looking forward to hosting our first Edinburgh UX meetup soon. We also host two coffee mornings, CodeBase Open Coffee Morning and Creative Circles, for those who prefer caffeine with their chatting.
Turing Festival Day 2: Billion Dollar Scale-Ups

Edinburgh's tech startup scene has seen massive growth in the last two years, not least of all the two Quartermile-based unicorns, FanDuel and Skyscanner, and CodeBase, now the UK's largest tech incubator. The city has become an amazing place to build companies, and this day will delve into the process of scaling to become real global players.
Turing Festival day one
In 2012, we launched the Edinburgh Festival’s one stop shop for technology and innovation, the Turing Festival. In the first years we saw speakers such as Steve Wozniak (Apple), Susan Poulton (National Geographic Explorers) and DJ Powers (Valve) grace our stage, inspiring an audience from all around the world.
This year we're back, and going to be bigger than ever.
Digital Media Launchpad
Yesterday we announced in partnership with Innovate UK, Creative Edinburgh and Festivals Edinburgh a new £1 million fund for startups who are interested in digital media innovation. Each project value will be approximately £100,000 to £120,000, with 70% of the funding being provided by Innovate UK. CodeBase will be active in helping applicants find the remaining 30%.

Expansion News
It seemed the dust had only just settled on our last phase of expansion when we began work on the next wing of CodeBase. We took over another 10,000 square feet of Argyle House at the beginning of this year, and building work to renovate has been pushing on for the last month. This expansion will allow three of our key tenants to move into larger areas, as their rapid growth has left them needing the extra space for new hires!
